Would it be asking too much for people to have a basic enough grasp of civics to understand they're not "throwing their general election vote away" voting in a primary election?

We do pride ourselves, as a Democracy, on letting stupid people vote.
Protecting them from predation is valuable.

An entire campaign and legal effort against misinformation might be a necessary feature.
Particularly when it is an effort to compromise an election.

OTOH, telling Democrats not to vote for Biden this week is... uhh... pointless. It's not like we challenge incumbents in primaries.
What possible outcome do they imagine? Suppose there are other people on the ballot. Maybe it is a purely local effort, to corrupt an election we are not paying attention to.

I saw a great idea for a political commercial for Dems.

Biden team should use AI to take some of the outrageous things Trump has said over the years, and make it seem like various people Biden, Obama, Hillary, etc. were actually saying those things. With the caption how to tell real from fake...

Obama saying, “Trump is incapable of doing his job because he is white.”
Biden saying, “Don’t bring disabled vets around me”
Hillary saying, “Grab ’em by the dick”

When will Democrats finally learn the old rules no longer apply.
Shit if I had the money & ability I would make an AI voice recording of the former President calling registered Republicans the day of the election telling them not to vote in a rigged election or crap have one tell people not to use the corrupt mail in voting.

I would have been cool if the robo voice identified himself as Cornpop. Missed opportunity.
