To the OP, I'm not sure what you're trying to say...?

Well even if that label is fake, I don't think it's possible to get a "fake" CPU..... No one else can just make CPU's like Intel and sell them as Intel... don't see that as being possible.
so I think as long as it works, you will be fine.

The errors on the label do seem odd to me.

8 instead of B (K8 and FS8 for KB and FSB)

O instead of D (Celeron O)

Oh, there were many "fakes" back in the PII days, especially in non-US countries. There were companies even faking the PII and PIII's outside shell, to make them look legit. The chips/boards inside, were either overclocked chips original sold by Intel, or reject-lots of chips thought to be destroyed (far less common).

It is a bit curious though, but wasn't Intel going to sell a totally-cacheless CPU over in China for low-cost? Is this the one? (But the box shows 256KB cache, so perhaps not.) Edit: Shelton

I agree. The only way to be 100% sure is to drop it in a computer and see what it does. I am not aware of anyone having the technology to fully remark Intel CPUs(that is, change their clockspeed), so if it's fake, it's either a defective CPU, or perhaps a 2.4ghz Celeron(non-D).

The game is ti take a cheap, low end CPU
and relable it as an expensive, high end cpu.
Of course, but ever since Intel put the impenetrable multiplier lock on their chips, it has effectively killed the game. If the chip is a fraud, you can't hide it any more, since it won't run at the advertised speed.
