Just wanted to let everyone know that the small syringes of Arctic Silver that you see on auction sites like the one linked to below are FAKE.

We have never packaged Arctic Silver in these types of syringes or in any quantity smaller than 6.5 grams. (And since 6.5 grams is $14.00, there is no way 1.5 grams could be $2.00)

Link to Bogus Arctic Silver

If you are a member of any auction site ans see bogus Arctic Silver offered for sale, please alert them to this fraud.

Thanks

Save yourself the hassle and get some aluminum oxide compound from a legitimate site.

It is what the charlatans are selling as silver compound on the auction sites.

Caveat emptor.

I didn't mean because it's good, but because I want to see how crappy this stuff really is :)

Actually, it is decent...

It's just not great nor nearly as good as they claim. (Imagine that!)

So all syringe applicators mean the Silver is fake, yes e.g. overclockers.co.uk sell fake paste? Or just some syringes? Is it true you have different compounds tailored to small and large contact areas?

Viperoni,

I have tried various aluminum oxide compounds. Several people who tried the advertised "silver" compound told me it was identical to the aluminum compound they already had.

Rigoletto,

I said we do not sell Arctic Silver in "these types of syringes or in any quantity smaller than 6.5 grams."
Not that we do not sell Arctic Silver in syringes.

The Arctic Silver on overclockers.uk is in our syringe and contains 6.5 grams of compound. Our syringe is shown on our website.

Large Contact area A.S. is thinner and easier to spread evenly over a larger area.

Nevin, I just realized you were from AS :)

The AS I bought was in a black thing...same shape like the ones on your page, except black case.
Looks the same though :D

Frank828,

And that would be okay in what way?

And no, it isn't artic silver. It is called MPU3.7, and it is a aluminum-oxide or aluminum-nitride based thermal grease. it is a good grease, but not as good as Artic Silver.

Frank828,

The math doesn't work for that. Considering the cost of the real Arctic Silver compound and the small syringes, they would be loosing a significant amount of money on every 1.5 gram syringe they sold for $1.99 even if they bought the 6.5 gram tubes of Arctic Silver at the biggest quantity discount.

And that is without even figuring in the auction site's cut and the cost of the labor to transfer the compound from one syringe to 4 1/3 smaller ones.

And when you loose money on every sale, you really can't make it up with volume. ;)
