***This is not meant to start a flame war, just looking for some other people's thoughts and ideas.***

I consider myself a person of faith but I don't think that I am particularly religious. I suppose I do believe in God, or at least some sort of higher being, but I don't think that organized religion is really a factor in my relationship with him. I consider a person's relationship with God to be above all a very personal one and I just don't feel like organized religion gets it right. Faith doesn't fit into a cookie cutter mold for me. Does anyone else know what I'm saying?

Whiteknight, this thread is going to turn into a mess.

But I think the same way. I believe there is something greater then us, but hell if I know what it is. I don't think there is a Man with a silver beard sitting in a throne or anything, but I think there is something out there.

Oh well, why not...

Faith and religion are different. IMO faith is a belief while religion is a practice. The important part of faith is a personal relationship with God. I do believe that some organized religion gets it right, but more than anything the Church provides a place to have fellowship with other believers.

Sounds to me like you are an agnost.

Hehe, you remind me of George Bush. He leaves me wondering too.

An atheist actively denies the existence of God.
An agnostic believes that it's impossible to know one way or the other, and may be skeptical about God's existense.
A deist believes that God created the universe, then abandoned it. God assumes no active control over the universe since creation.
A theist professes a personal belief in a god or gods, particularly a God who created and rules over the universe.
A pantheist is one who believes that God and the universe are one and the same.

Just wanted to get the terminology down for the rest of the thread.

what is a person who thinks it's impossible to prove whether there is a god or not, but is 100% certain there is no god?

A setinhisway! :D

I kinna feel the same way WhiteKnight, I stopped going to church almost a year ago. "Finding God" and your "spirtituality" is much better done on your own terms.

In order for someone to know 100% that there is no god at all, they would have to be god himself.
