"fair treatment for all minorities"

my g/f is turning into a fairly extreme feminist. I mean that's fine... whatever... but she was talking the other day about how women should have equal treatment in the workforce, etc. etc... I brought up how this TOTALLY unqualified girl at my work is now a manager of a dept... and she's only there because she pulled the "sexist" card on management. My g/f was like good... it's about time women got fair treatment in the workplace

I was like WTF that makes NO sense.


Of course, this was all right before I smacked her ass and told her to get back to work doing my laundry (right after she made dinner, and mopped the floor)

depends on the definition. There's a brown haired, brown eyed white guy at my work who uses the definition of something along the lines "a minority is a particular section of society who recieves the least benfits" which nowadays puts HIM as a minority.

I disagree... I don't think women should be in combat. I don't think that they should be in a lot of jobs that they have used the afirmitive action card to get... but I am in the minority on that.



P.S. I don't think that women should work so hard to be equal... we were so far above until demanding equality.

Minority refers to being in the minority, not your power status; it just happens that in many cases the 'minority' group is politically, economically and socially disadvantaged. It doesn't make his use of the word any more worthwhile though.

Maybe he should use 'diadvantaged' or 'downtrodden' if he wants a word to use. But I'd rather he put his considerable creativity to good use and made up his own word!

No really, look it up.. That's the definition a sociologist would use, for good reason. Numerical advantage does not always equal advantage (see: South Africa). You are correct though that his friend should have come up with some other term to describe his feelings of persecution.
