ebay Thinkin about getting something like this to upgrade from my 5700u, and hold me over til PCI-E. I was originally going to get a 6800, but that also cost quite a bit of moola.

EDIT: Alright, just won it :) I hope this plays ROME better, and can slate my lust til I move to PCI-E

Not a bad price, but it's probably going to get sniped up to $150 with shipping. You *may* want to wait until black friday and see if you can get a 9800 pro then. You may be able to get one for $150.

I have a 9700pro and works very nice, but hope you have better luck with ebay than me. Don't let my sour mood ruin your experience.

9700pro's run on anandtech fs/ft for ~120 including shipping. For the amount you paid you could have gotten a 9800 pro. Not a good deal imo

$20 is just $20, I wouldn't worry too much about it. That's just a little while longer saving up for HL2, no big deal. ;)

I just upgraded to a 9700P, too. Seems very nice while it's not being crippled by my XP1700+, tho the Punkbuster crashing with the latest drivers (4.10) is kind of irritating, seeing as I spend quite a bit of time with Wolf:ET. Oh well, it's just a drive switch. Now for the hard part, determining if I prefer 10x7 4x16 100Hz or 16x12 0x16 60Hz. :)

I love people who say "it never has been overclocked". They are just the people who did overclock the card for it's whole life.

upgrade from 5700U? i don think its good money spend on upgrade.... for $150 you can get 9800 PRO on anand

regardless, 9700 PRO was one of the greatest, u should enjoy it but don expect much difference from a 5700U
