Fair price for Dell Inspiron XPS

How much is an Inspiron XPS worth nowadays? It's the 3.4GHz model (non-XE) with 2 gigs RAM, 60 gig HD and CDRW/DVD combo drive. I was offered one for $1000, do you think it's too much for that laptop?

Iono... Kinda wanna go with the whole price checks are against the rules, but you said you were going to buy...

I don't think its a good deal if you're looking for portability, but as a desktop replacement... Still not good.
