I need some help:
My laptop, part of a small wireless home network , connects to the network but fails to reach any webpage. It connected fine until a few days ago when it just stopped while connected to SKYPE. I have a dual boot of XP (Home) and Linux(UBUNTU) on the laptop. Ubuntu can connect as usual but XP can no longer reach/find any webpage. All other computers on the network(3) connect and function well.
A"system restore" to three weeks earlier did not help. Hardwiring the laptop did not get it to reach any web page either. Some how AVG could automatically update it self twice during this fiasco.
Installation of a new broadband modem allowed a very brief one time connection that could find google but that was just a one time flash in the pan.
I saved a copy of XP's diagnostics (.xml file) which I can forward if needed. The diagnostics warned of: " The default gateway address could not be resolved via ARP."
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
