last WU i hit 98% and recieved a message stating that the deadline was passed, and it was moving on to the next WU. (though it never actually did). this WU i only got to 36% and got the message. System clock is fine, i'm not sure what the deal is. i reinstalled the client, specifying no packets larger than 5MB. will this help?

sorry for lack of info...
WinXP Pro
2ghz Centrino Duo
2GB ram
and its my main PC, but it has alot of idle time, and i don't game or anything at the moment so F@H pretty much has free reign. I'm also using the SMP client, which in itself is working fine.

The SMP client is a high performance client.

The deadlines are very short so that the project can be finished in a few weeks instead of a year or more. The science is done quickly and finding cures and good results are what the researchers are so excited about with all the newer high performance clients!

I would have guessed that your CPU would have finished in time. Do you run it 24/7?

The WUs from P2610 take lots longer than the others on CPUs with smaller L2 cache :(

I will try to remember to add a warning about this to the daily stats thread.

Which SMP client are you running? This is a big problem w/ the winSMP client right now. Try using vmware and the linux cleint (if you are up to that) If not, you'll probably have to switch to using two of the console clients until the bugs get worked out as all of the smp clients are in beta.

also... make sure you have your screen saver turned off and nothing else (like virus scan or firefox) is eating your cpu usage.

does running the linux client in a virtual setting suffer from a performance hit? And is the Linux client faster than the WinSMP client?
