My mom's hard-drive stopped working, so I put it as a slave on my computer and in Disk Management I get:

Screenshot of Disk Management

I have two options, Delete Volume and Reactivate Disk. When I try to Reactivate the Disk, it gives me the error
The Specified Disk Cannot Be Located

In device status it says
Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.

The drive is connected to my computer, it shows up in the BIOS, but both Active Partition Recovery and GetDataBack do not see the drive.

When I ran Seagate's Seatools, the drive passed the test, but the partition failed.

Dynamic drive - just another complication and failure point. Just don't do it!

A friend of mine just built a new machine with three 320GB Seagate drives; all of them with dynamic partitions. I told him he was crazy.
