failed bios flashon a dell notebook

Is there anyway to fix a failed bios flash? i just got a notebook from a friend, he was flashing the bios and the power went out , now the notebook turns on makes noise, but no display is there anyway to fix this ? what would the cheap way be since the notebook is mine now.

I'm not sure about Laptops but I think you gotta send the mobo in for an RMA - depending on how old and if they even accept failed BIOS stuff.

You should definately contact Dell technical support. I hope it's still under warranty(although I am not sure if the warranty covers this anyway). Did he have the battery in it when the power went out? Whenever the power goes out where I live my laptop automatically switches to battery power, just like if I'd unplugged it from the wall. I haven't tried it during a bios flash, though, only in Windows.
