Failblog.org used to be interesting, what happened?

Visited now for first time in several weeks and in the first two pages we have some incredibly unfunny meme comics and then on page two a trailer for 21 Jump Street (how is this relevant to a site about fails?), what happened to the fail? Even the thumbs up/down ratings are gone.

It's still going strong as far as I can see. Watch the TV smash fail if you want to see the latest one.

Most people think they're funnier and more clever than they actually are, when in fact only a few of us are actually "witty". Since failblog is now mainstream, we're getting the general, untalented population submitting content.

So many of the mordor meme, I really don't understand why that is so popular.

I do find it has declined over time, but there's still some hilarious stuff on there, but before almost every single one was hilarious. What's funny is that their operation (The cheezburger network) is actually pretty big. Apparently they rack in millions, who would have thought? I forget where I read that.

It might have been good when it was new, when it was people genuinely screwing up. And some of those types of comics are good, but the good ones are tough to find.

Once something like that becomes popular though, and they start wanting ad revenue for a dedicated site, more crap gets forced on just to fill space and draw page views.

Just like a lot of cable TV shows. :p

No idea, it was on failblog. That's another thing I noticed, non fails tend to make it on there. I think they need another category for just general funny pics/comics instead of putting them in a random category.

They have 90 different sites that are all part of the same network. They have places to put "non-fails;" everywhere else.

way too segmented now. If you spend 5 hours scrolling through all the sites, there is some funny stuff.

Subscribe to all the different facebook and twitter feeds. Its the best way now.
