fail to add new harddrive.

Hi, i am putting another drive into my system.

using the same cable. the drive i am using, of course, it is set to be the Primary Drive, another drive set to slave drive(it is a QUantum).

but winxp doesn't loadup. normal mode, it helt on the bootup screen with the harddisk light on (on the case's hd light), when i try safe mode, after a page of characters(windows%00/windows0/winxp) something like that.

now, once i unplug the new harddrive, everything back to normal again. i know the problem is course by the new drive. but don't know what.

my board is weird, it will not detect any drive if i put it on my ata66 slot.

I now put a drive on one of my ata66 port and the new one on the other.

now i can somehow get two drives working... but everything seems very slow. takes 5 minutes to load winxp.

when i open explore(windows), when i try to see a file's property, it takes at least 3 minutes to popup.
