FaH wu times for GNRApfold 314

Just thought I'd share this with my fellow folders, all 3 comp here happen to be running the same protein--GNRApfold 314. As a side note, they all are running pc133 ram at stock settings. The only one not running with 256mb is the tbird 750, it only has 224 mb. Here's their current times per frame:

Plll 933 on Intel D815EEA: 00:04:46

T-bird 750, Gigabyte GA-7ZXR : 00:04:14

Duron 1Ghz, Abit KT7A : 00:03:08

This is all unofficial of course, but it is interesting to note that the AMD based comps are crunching faster than the Intel base comp. And this is not a flame against Intel, just an interesting observation. Now I wish my 1600xp was up and folding to compare with the rest!

Fold on!

My 800MHz Duron overclocked to 904MHz (on a 113MHz FSB) with standard PC/133 SDRAM running at CAS 2 (iirc, but it's been so long since I've been in the BIOS, I can't be sure) on a Gigabyte GA-7ZXE gets 3.68 mins/frame on the GNRApfold314.

Good numbers there, jliechty. Hmm, man I must have been way tired last night, the AMD based comps are running on a 100 bus, the Intel is running on a 133 bus. Gonna try diff memory on the Tbird comp, see if I can't get it to fsb of 133. That should help it.

One of the big reason's that AMD chips do this stuff faster is that <Opinion>AMD was so embarrased by the lackluster performance of the K6 FPU that</Opinon> AMD worked hard to make sure the K7 FPU was more efficient than Intel's. So number crunching is a strong suit of the Athlon/Duron family. 😉
