FAH, two clients on a Quad

Shooks

First of all, thank you Sid for your help in setting this installation up, I think I got everything working like it should, but I just want to make sure.

I did the separate installation directories for the clients and have them running at the same time. In task manager, there are 8 total processes, 4 per client. I have FAH SMP Affinity Changer also running. I was just wondering if there should be 8 total processes instead of 4, meaning 2 per client, like two dual core cpu's.

And also, typically how long do the WU's take to complete using this setup (for those of you with Q6600's or similar)?

It sounds like you're in business Shooks

4 threads per SMP client is right.

With the affinity changer, I see ~11.3 minutes per frame and a total time of ~19 hours for an entire work unit. (@3.46GHz)

There is a tool called FahMon that is nice to monitor your progress.

Welcome to the team and good luck with these BETA work clients. I have found that good ram is essential to stability at these clock speeds. I am replacing ram in about 4 boxex. I had them built and the company used stock ram from off brand companies. Now I have to go behind them and grab ram from OCZ or Corsair to make the units actual get work done.

Keep folding,

Gravity

Thanks for the advice Gravity, and thank you Sid for that FahMon link, great program, was looking for just such a thing
