FaH poised for the leap....

Dudes, I was just checking out the stats, and we've pretty much been holding at 22. With the new influx of AnandTecher's and the way our production is starting to rise, there's a good chance that our next jump might actually be into the top 20 😀😀😀😀

Good deal TeAm FaH!! At the same time I am poised to break into the TeAm Top 20! (finally!!) There's some serious crunchers in our Top 20, it will be a chore to stay there!!

WTG all!!

🙂🙂🙂🙂

Do you know what's really amazing about this to me?? According to statsman, we have 75 members on our team, and yet we are folding like there's no tomorrow. I think that is is a Most Impressive Feat for such a non-large group (We are probably a bit larger than small, but not large yet... 🙂). Anyway, I can't to say Thanks to all the folders for TA, and Let's Do It..... (I also think that this shows what a true bunch of techno-weenies we are all, but that's a topic for a different thread....)

BTW, if I offend anyone, please let me change that to "Mr. Techno-Weenie...."

To add to what mg said, there are only 36 people on the team that have had any output for this week. I'd say 36 people kicking as much butt as we are is pretty damn good!

Well, it appears my duallie is working fine. I just check the Stanford stats page and see where two new WUs have completed. Looks like, at the current type of work, I can get two WUs/cpu done per day. That will start adding up quickly.

BTW, how does that points/WU work? I had 7 pts from the 1st WU and have had 5 on each since. Do they send out certain types of WUs based on processor type?

I have a couple of goals to achieve on the SETI side of things - once those goals are achieved, Folding will likely be my next large-scale project. 😉

From the F@H page:

How you decide how much credit a work unit is worth?

We benchmark each unit such that a 400 MHZ Pentium III can finish a work unit worth 1.0 credits in 1 day. Shorter and longer units are credited appropriately.

I do believe however, that they've changed from a 400mhz to a 1ghz.

I believe that's about right as it seems it took about a day on my laptop for that first WU (I'm running a PIII 1.0-M). But, I moved the laptop back to SETI and.

Thanks, bunker.

If we rank the teams by output, as of yesterday we would be ranked 17th. However, it will take us some weeks to overtake all of those currently ranked higher than we are whom we are nonetheless outperforming. To get into the top ten, we'll probably need to sustain 5000 points per week, which is a bit more than double our current 2300+ performance. What's the cheapest way to achieve this goal?

Recruit! Recruit! Recruit! 😀

Things are sure sounding good for us when it comes to the stats.

However, the unfortunate thing is that it looks like I'll be losing my 16th position in the TeAm very soon due to all these new members who have machines that way outperform my meager 800mhz duron and 500mhz celeron. 🙁

Hey you folks,

I fold for overclockers.com(team 32) and I asked about what pandelabs was benchmarking with a couple of months ago on the folding Yahoo groups and after going through it with them found out that they are actually benchmarking with Celeron 500 machines. This was about the time when everyone was complaining about the ProteinA's only giving 3 points. They re-benchmarked the ProteinA's and then bumped them up to 5 points retroactively. From what I've seen on the new proteins that have come out since then, they must still be benchmarking with the same computers because the point values for the 700 series are falling in line with the proteinA's as far as I can tell.

Thanks for the info mud.

I could've sworn I read somewhere on the Yahoo groups that they were using PIII 1ghz machines to do the benchmarking now though. Who knows, and to be honest, I don't really care all that much, as long as everyone is getting the same points for the same stuff.

NWM bringing the power of his fleet to bear on F@H? Those in the lead positions in the stats better start looking behind them!
