FAFSA Scam

So my roomate was looking to fill out his FAFSA, he isn't real bright, he thought he was supposed to go to fafsa.com...we all know this is wrong, anyway he is telling me how he doesn't have to do a damn thing becuase he paid the people to do it for him. all that I have ever heard about these places is that they are scams, that you are never supposed to pay anyone to fill out financial aid paper work, I mean you have to put down your social on that thing. Man he has been having a good day.

what do you think?

EDIT: for people want to know how dumb my roomate is, he got a parking ticket today for parking in a 2hr zone for 3hrs, he bought a guitar pedal that was on sale for $125, when he called the lady said that they were out of stock and b!tched him into paying the normal price of $200 after she hung up on him twice, then he paid $80 to "professionaly" have his FAFSA filled out...this is pretty much a day to day thing.

i've known many people who have paid others to do their app.. and they got their money

but in this case it sounds it is a scam.. but the site doesn't resolve for me. what gives?

My neighbor called me a few days ago and asked me if she needed to pay $80 or whatever for a FAFSA. I was like NO NO NO.

I hate sites like this. It's a free application, hence the name Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

Grr. :|

think accountant. or even an attorney. they fill out your financial paperwork for you.

though you're also right, it's probably a scam.

but yeah, some of the services are scams

did you check out the site, I don't mean paying someone like a friend, I don't know the company and site just didn't look legit to me. 😕

Some people pay under the assumption that they are paying for the service of tweaking their Fasfa for more FA. Ofcourse, if they really wanted to do this, they narked up the wrong tree.

How do you bitch someone into doing something? That doesn't make any sense. 😕
