FAFSA and taxes

I'm going to fill out the FAFSA since my #1 college likes you rape you in the posterior end and steal your money (RIT).

The tax records for what year could be used to fill out the FAFSA? I've heard that the previous one is too outdated to be used so my parents should do their taxes ASAP and then they can do the FAFSA - is that true?

And since I'm not too familiar with filing the FAFSA, can anyone who have done it before tell me the process?

I think I did my FAFSA online, dont ask for the url cause I don't really remember. Fawk speaking of which im going to have to fill one out again for next year. Blah! You have to use your latest one for the FAFSA. They want up to date information you dirty whore you.
