The answer is in the question. The pink screen of death referred to above is very different from a monitor without any green. It could also be the green pin. If all the pins are intact, then the gun's dead. Time for zeee replacement!!!!
P.S. What's your favorite type of food 😉
I had an Iiyama Vision Master 17 (ancient 17 incher) with BNC inputs. It displayed the same symptoms, but the problem was (AFAIK) in the BNC cable, because wiggling the cable in a certain way would cause the monitor to work properly (for a second). 🙁Originally posted by: jonno
Thanks all. It ain't the pins. I tried another cable with BNC connections, same deal. It is most assuredly something inside the monitor. And more than likely a dead gun. Heading into town this afternoon to get something to tide me over.

What is your video card? Certain GF4 Ti 4200 models (made by Gainward) are experiencing failures resulting in PSODs (pink screens of death). Is this a possibility for you?

BTW, is it just me, or did anybody else, when they first saw the title before the thread loaded, think that this was mis-posted here from off topic and was some terrible pun on a Metallica song? 😱 😉
