Hi team ...

Today 3 nodes (2 computers) are no longer crunching for mondobyte. A thief came and removed the 2 computers. literally, in the middle of the night.

One of the computers was a Celeron 1.x GHz and the other was a 3.x GHz P4 HT ... ouch!

Of course, I have reallocated the jobs to "present" computers to complete the work.

Very disturbing.

Any way to track them down if the culprit decides to upload some finished work?

Now that might be a strange idea, but if you know what nodes that were and if FaD still runs on them, can't you/FaD-Crew track their IP if they send back some results? I know, most likely the thief will format or sell the PCs partwise, but hey, it's still a chance, isn't it?

It's been done before. I think it was Ray that found a stolen PC running RC5. :) Took forever for the cops to get it back to him, though.

Ouch. Hope you get them back soon! Or at least some speedy insurance compensation or something to replace them. Preferrably with faster machines, of course. ;)
