FaD Stats - May 12, 2004

The very recent recalc. of stats on the FaD servers has causes much pain and grief. It took them two kicks at the can to get it correct... and the jury is still out on wether they got it correct the second time.

The member stats look realistic, but the TeAm has dropped two places which makes we want to believe it is incorrect. FaD has admitted for a long time that there were problems with calc. stats and that a recalc. was coming. It appears from the messages in the forums @ FaD that the longer a team has been around the more likely they are to have benefited from a recalc...

Having said all of that, here are the stats. Take them w/ a grain of salt and let's see how things settle over the coming days. The stats on Sunday should provide a more accurate picture of current production levels as the ones for today are skewed due to the recalc...

Mloot, that dually Opteron really looks like it kicked your production up. What kind of numbers are you getting?

I'm not sure what kind of numbers you are talking about, but my guess is that it has more than doubled my production. Here's what I was running before and the average CPU rating for each:

P4 2.4 - CPU rating normally 140-168

Athlon XP 1500+ (laptop) - CPU rating normally 109-131


Added to that is the new dually:

2x Opt. 246 - both CPU's rate between 168-210, each running one instance of FaD


Since CPU rating and time spent crunching are probably the largest determining factors in determining the number of points garnered, you can see how it has affected my numbers. 😀 Still, there's no way I will come close to matching Ross, BCinSC, or Grendel's production. I would probably have to add 2 or 3 more duallies just to break even with their numbers. Maybe it's time I started playing the lottery... 🙂
