FaD Question

I've been crunching for FaD with both of my systems for a couple of days now. However, I selected different projects in the Control Panel applet to avoid the possibility of completing duplicate jobs and having one of them not count.

My question is: Do I need to worry about my systems completing duplicate jobs?
Or can I select all of the projects and the FaD server/program will keep track of all that for me?

you can select everything... the odds of processing the same jobs is VERY slim as there are 10s of thousands of jobs for each project...

I have 2 puters with queues setup for the same project and have yet to see them process the same job..l

Also judging from the thread on their forums about certificates, they will process the molecule several times to ensure it is accurate.

I have some machines doing everything, and some just doing ones I use to either get more hits, or GFlops for competition.

You can select all and not worry about it.

Which projects give more points/GFlops? I thought it was entirely dependant upon the GFlops calc. which I thought was independant of project.

1 GFlop = 8 points. You can check the math, but that's how it is set up. Which makes my wonder why we just didn't stick to points.

Looks like you are moving up fast too. Kinda make you want to go the the office depot and load all their machines up huh... 🙂

LOL, yeah. My two old machines have trouble matching up against one of the more modern ones. I would go to the head of the computer department at my college and ask them to load FaD on all the systems, but they probably wont do it. Stupid Cali budget problems...

The only reason I'm still moving up is because I'm passing people who no longer participate. 🙁 I wouldn't mind being last if it meant more people were active.
