Huh? I'm surprised to find my name as the Top-Dawg. I was just fixing the cases of my account name for one of my PCs...

Thanks for the update, Geoff!

Here's something interesting though... ZoneAlarm keeps blocking access from 192.168.0.101 (UDP port 22561), however while there is nothing on my network with that IP (nothing in the attached devices list on my router), I can ping it...

Attached Devices

IP Address Device Name
192.168.0.2 DELL-C-22
192.168.0.3 PC1
192.168.0.4 KIDS
192.168.0.10 SC420
192.168.0.11 WEBSERVER

Anyone have any idea what that would be?

Geoff

managed switch ?

network printer ?

Router?

Wireless Access Point ?

Do you have wireless? Could be an interloper

mondobyte

Yep. x.x.x.101 is usually the first or second IP address that a home router gives out through DHCP. It sounds to me like somone may be 'borrowing' your wireless...

Hi guys...

I don't think I have a managed switch anywhere... I have a Netgear FVS318 ProSafe VPN Router, and attached to that is my Netgear MR814V2 wireless router that is really only acting as a switch at this time. ZoneAlarm was posting those warnings, and while I can ping .101, the DHCP settings on my router are set to dole out addresses between .002 and .099 only, so the DHCP in the router wouldn't be assigning the .101 address. In addition, while I can ping .101 right this instant, there is nothing in the Attached Devices with that IP (can there be an attached device that isn't showing up as an attached device?) My wireless is set up with WEP and only allows MAC addresses that I know about...

Geoff

Tried that...

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>tracert 192.168.0.101

Tracing route to 192.168.0.101 over a maximum of 30 hops

1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 192.168.0.101

Trace complete.

Didn't give me much... does it mean more to you?

ZoneAlarm says they are UDP protocol, coming from incrementally higher ports on .101 (currently at port 32477) and all hitting port 137 on the webserver. ZoneAlarm is blocking them all, but I'm just wondering where they are coming from... my printer is not a network printer and I don't see any devices with that IP attached to the router...
