Now for the bad news... I think I've taken about all I can take where I'm working now, and it's been a really hard decision, but I think I'm going to start seeking employment elsewhere. I don't see that the company is going in directions that are healthy for neither the company nor for me.

That has ramifications for my herd. My personal herd is scattered throughout empty cubicles at work... they're all going to have to go... 17 PCs at last count.

Worse is the stats server which is sitting in the server room using on of my company's IP addresses... I'm going to have to see if my cable account at home allows for a persistent IP and traffic on port 80, and perhaps upgrade my home service if I need to. i'm with Adelphia... anyone else using that as a business account (or whatever they call it)?

I haven't started interviewing yet, and hope it won't be a long process, but this could all have to happen withing a month.

I'm sure everyone will agree your personal well being comes first and we all wish you the best and let us know if we can do anything.
I would offer to host some of the machines for you but I'm at my limit both space wise and cost wise in fact I'm trying to find friends to give machines to if they will run them and crunch FaD for the RA.

as far as crunching its a back seat sorta thing, not to worry 😛

i hardly touch my bandwith never even near my max, to be honest I utilize less than 2% most months.

I could handle around 60+gb if necessary 😉

more if we split the files between two servers

just a thought.

Geoffs, like what the others said make sure you are happy IRL. That is more important. Also if you need someone to host some machines, LMK I have an air conditioned shed with planty of room to put more computers 🙂
