My numbers are going to take a hit! I had to take down my home herd last night for today's installation of a new breaker box. Going from an old, crappy 150A breaker setup to a 200A greatly improved box.

Funny story, my old breakers cost about $75 each (for just a plain 15A breaker) since the company that made them went out of business like 15-20 years ago. I cried everytime one of them went bad. 🙁 The new box uses breakers that cost like $5 each, hehehehe, what an upgrade! 🙂

You had a federal pacific or one of the real odd balls. Several of those companies lost the UL rating on there panels and FP was not a good panel when brand new. I would have told you to add a sub until you could get the panel replaced. A sub plus breakers and misc. hardware would be cheaper than $75.

Yep, Federal Pacific breakers...they SUCK. Just found out this is going to be this Friday now, damn electric co can't get here. So I lost all last night and today in production as I shutdown the herd.....grrrrrrrrr.

Production has been down ... been over 100 here and will be again. The A/C is just not able to handle that many computers and keep the temps inside in the 72-75 range.

The 600 MHz "stealth dell" is permanently removed from FaD production. Just not worth the juice to run it.

On a lighter note, I have installed "inside" micro irrigation in my house plants. It was getting tiresome to water my palm trees that grow in the bedroom. I have 3 14-17 ft palms in the master bedroom. Now ... all I will need to do is change the battery in the timer every 6 months or so! Having growing vegetation in the winter is extremely ... non-depressing ... I love the green and the smell of growing plants. I wonder what the trash person thinks when we trash a bigger than trash can size palm frond during the winter ... he he he.
