Bad news folks ... my primary file server crashed ... mobo upped and died without any warning.

Looks like it will be offline until another mobo can be secured or mobo/cpu ... etc.

On a brighter note ... I have permission to run the next generation of DC projects on yet another network (about 15 computers) ...

If I can find a project that is suitable ... I can be a serious competitor ... got a lot of computers but most do not get internet access ... which is a problem for BOINC ...

Will keep you all apprised ...

Oh ... my bad ...

Looks like the dual Athlon MP 2000+ can't be replaced ...

Looks like the most likely candidate is a new mobo and a dual Athlon X2 @ 2.0 gHz ... oh ... so sad ... 🙁 (btw .. cheaper than a dual core Opteron) ...

oh well ... we gotta do what we gotta do ... 🙁
