Did anyone else notice the cows dumped over 2 million yesterday?
Timo is still back there also and still picking up new members (4 in the last day) while our number of active crunchers is down from a high of 79 to 73 now.
We need more.more more.

Keeping it in perspective... the top 5 DPC yesterday were dumps from people that haven't returned results in about 6 weeks and they had a new member bring in 25k. So, while the DPC are to be respected and carefully watched, yesterday was somewhat anomolous...

The departed member was one of my machines. I did not know that you had to have all the same nicknames. (Thought it was grouped by email address) I probably will bring my machines to FAD after Seti. At the most I will be leaving only one for Boinc and other projects.

Man, I'm moving up much slower now that I'm above 2 million points. The run to there was quite fun, I was passing mofo's like there's no tomorrow. Things have slowed down now that the gaps are larger and most of them produce. If SETI would end, I could call up a couple of my better machines for FaD.....damn SETI. I'm about ready to chitcan it anyway.

Thanks for the stats and congrats to the MM's.

You may notice some inconsistent production from me over the last few and next days.

There have been numerous outages of connectivity in the St. Louis metropolitan area as upgrades are applied. I suspect there will be additional outages as they complete those.

I am making some headway on 5th if anyone has noticed. It looks like I will need a bit more production if I am to get there before Summer.

Using a quick calculation based on average output for the past 14 days, I show that you should be taking the 5th spot in 37.4 days. That should get you there before the middle of May... 🙂

You're looking at about 160 days for number 4 as well. So probably the end of summer there.




Personally, I'll be pretty happy when/if I manage to break into the top 500. 😛

Improving rank in my neighborhood is very competitive and slow. Those in the lower ranks can move around quite a bit with modest improvements in production while movement at the top requires an incredible amount of power over a sustained and significant time frame to hold off or make gains or both! I think everyone will agree that I am managing quite anincrease in power in spite of some significant computer losses to the hordes. I envy those in the lower ranks and the rapid progress that can be made there.

At this point, I have several folks ranked significantly lower than I am who are gaining on me by leaps and bounds every single day while {OF}OldGuy increased production as I approached. At present, I seem to have more power and seem to be gaining. Others in the top ranks will probably increase production and attempt to hold me off as I approach. The folks coming up the ranks have significantly more power than I do and so I am destined to be passed at some point in the future.

When everything shakes out ... I should end up around 6th or 7th by mid-summer even if I pass the current 4th and 5th place ranked members.

Good point about people coming up behind you. I hadn't figured that in before.

However, I just looked through the recent stats for the project and only see two people on the entire project besides Joker! and LaurenU2 that are out-producing you right now, and LAURENU2 is only ahead by an average of about 2.5K per day and is currently in the #3 spot. Based on recent numbers, PCZ[Free-DC] is threatening to pass you in 338 days and Agafonov_KY is looking to pass you in 423 days. By that time you will have long since passed {OF}Oldguy and msmadiso and will be more than halfway towards passing Plum Ugly.

Of course, things can and will change, but using recent numbers, I'd say things are looking quite good for you to be in the #4 spot by the end of September. 🙂

I sincerely hope you can do it. That would be a major accomplishment!

I agree ... a VERY MAJOR accomplishment ... but more wishful thinking at this time than reality but #5 and #4 are definitely on my wish list at this point. 😉

I may be a bit jaded but moving from 6th to 4th, IMHO, is substantially more difficult than moving up from the bottom into the top 200 (+10,000 places) or so .... As one reaches the top 100 at this phase of FaD it becomes a significant test of patience, persistence, and raw POWER. Those who began early and crunched steadily have a huge lead over anyone who has recently come to FaD however, most of those folks are fading from the very top ranks and some those who were in the top 25 are no longer in the top 100! Even with my huge lead ... I could be out of the top 50 in a year or less if I quit today!
