I just recieved from newegg today an MSI K7N420 MB and an Athlon 1.33 AXIA stepping CPU. (default config is 133x10 I suppose)
When I open up the cpu box, lo and behold to my suprise all of the L1 bridges are still connected and I think to myself wow, a factory unlocked CPU. I then proceed to attach my ASII and heatsink, pop into the bios and start to overclock. As expected I can push my FSB to speed up with no problem, but if I go back to 133 and try the multiplier route, no matter what multiplier I set in the bios I still get only 1333(the standard 133x10). That darn thing refuses to bump up. I even go back into the bios and it still reads 11x or 12x depending on what I set and no good.
Now am I stupid and just missing something(no wise cracks now ), is it not really unlocked. I have triple checked the bridges and they are most definately shorted properly and were NOT ever cut by the factory.
Any help you guys can give would be appreciated.
