yikes....manufacturing iincreasing....HOW CAN WE SPIN THIS SO IT IS BAD NEWS....
The Institute for Supply Management said its monthly manufacturing index fell to 61.4 in February from January's two-decade high of 63.6, showing the ninth straight month of expansion in the sector that makes up less than a fifth of the U.S. economy
SEE!!!! the index is falling...this is bad...

The employment index jumped to 56.3 in February -- the highest since December 1987 -- from January's 52.9. ISM's Ore said more and more factories were reporting hiring though it has yet to show up in government employment statistics.
Doesn't count if it hasn't shown up yet in the giverment statistics...and once it shows up there we're ok, because we can claim Bush cooked the numbers...

Even as the ISM report and other regional surveys have shown a pick-up in jobs during the past two months, the government's payrolls survey showed a 38,000 decline in manufacturing jobs nationwide.
see!! more jobs lost!!!
Two things are worrying manufacturers, ISM said -- the rapid rise in energy prices and a growing shortage of steel.
The sky is falling...the economy is a house of cards about to tumble down...anyone but BUSH!!

this is how the liberal posters on this forum will respond (assuming they even read the link).

I'm really starting to dislike you. You're the product of a marriage of convenience between a Tumor and a Troll.

Yeah Rubbermaid is hiring in droves right now.

They closed down a plant where employees made $12 an hour with good benefits last year.

The new place about 20 miles away is hiring at $8 an hour with little benefits.

Good going BUSH. :|

I don't see any chains, numbnuts.

Either you put out like two people and don't get paid the full value of two people or you have the door hit you on the way out, seems like a pretty good comparison to chains.

Seems like you are the one putting chains on yourself. If you don't like your current situation then you have every opportunity to change it...but I guess that would require someone to take responsibility for themself instead of allowing others to decide for you.

dave - call up the whitehouse and ask why they are forcing you to retrain as grocery store bagger. I hear that is now a "career";) Hell if you join a union they might even over pay you for the service you may or many not provide.

And that is Bush's fault how?

Some people really need to get a grip on a little reality.

Bush being President inspires anti-worker sentiment among companies.

Open season if you will.

"Either you put out like two people and don't get paid the full value of two people or you have the door hit you on the way out..."

If I could only output as much as two people like you, I'd have myself put out to pasture!

I pray someday you'll get the gumption to start your own business, and it ends up populated by a pack of whiny, ungrateful, "world owes me a living" types, like yourself. God, that would be rich!

If I could come to Georgia, or wherever it is you live, and take away your job and do it for half the wage, I would. Yours is the only sh!t that kills rather than fertilize. Your rants are exaggerated and completely banal. It wouldn't surprise me one bit when you finally decide to pull the switch.

The economy is in recovery, a trio of reports released Monday suggest, with manufacturing activity and consumer spending on the rise and construction spending solid yet slightly lower.

How many times have we heard this for the last 2 1/2 - 3 years. Can't even count how many times they've said this now. Like the State of Missouri, show me.

True, taxes isn't enough for Govt anymore these days just like Companies can't make any money without either Lawsuits or Outsourcing or both.
