I have pretty bad acne on my face, but since I started using minocycline and tazorac, it's been fairly good. However, since it makes my skin renew so quickly, it makes my face really red and always covered with thick oil. I try not to wash my face too much since I know that causes irritation and more oil, but sometimes when the oil gets totally out of hand I have to. my friend was telling me about how I should just wash the oil off of my face, but then use a moisturizer to keep it from producing tons of oil.

what's a good moisturizer to use on my face that will keep it hydrated so it won't produce a ton of oil, while not clogging the pores and causing more acne?

A strong recommendation I have gotten from a dermatologist in the past and particularly for my mom for other reasons is Purpose. I think it is made by Johnson + Johnson but I am not sure. It is going to be more expensive than many other products but it is made to be hypo-everything pretty much. I was using their bar of soap for a while and I found it to be pretty good. It is cleansing but also very gentle and oil-free.
