I actually held out for the same reason. Only joined myspace for this girl I liked.
I saw everyone else on campus with fb so I figured what the hell....😀
 
u guys are hella late into the schoolyear to get facebook...but yea it's great. i found friends from middle school (i already had my high school friends added) and a couple go to my school

why would that be the conclusion from my statement? Me being unhappy about facebook's expansion doens't necessarily mean i wish for its complete dismantling, nor does it mean i expect facebook to forcibly revert to the old system. I'm just lamenting the commercialization of a previously novel website for college students.
 
I think I'm too old for this sort of thing. Signed up to see what the hype was about. Tried to find a way to see if there was a high school alum network, fumbled around 5 minutes, deactivated account.

Joining the anandtech facebook group has always seemed amazingly counter productive to me.
