Facebook: If people I don't know are trying to list me as friend

Should I be afraid of strangers? Since I signed up for this thing, I've had a few people, who I don't know at all, list me as a friend. I don't have a pic up or any real information. So I'm kinda confused.

Kinda nervous too. I don't like being on the grid.

So is there any reason I shouldn't confirm these people as "friends" when I don't know them?

*adds Zanix as friend*

No but yeah, posting on AT is a lot worse than accepting new friends on FB.

My roommate and I got bored one night so we decided to add random people. I have 130 random girls named Stephanie as my "friends", and they're all quality.

i'm not sure what the big deal is.. if you didn't want people to add you then why sign up? a lot of people just add everyone so they can have big friends lists

Then why did you sign up.

I like trying new things.

A bunch of people I don't know have added me as their friend. I don't think they started stalking me, I just think if they go to a different school, they can't see your profile unless you're they're friend. And, if they do go to your school, they either want to make friends or (more likely) they want to up their number of friends. It's like post count to some people.

I guess that's good for both parties then, cause I had zero friends :)() before, and now I've got 4! It's that W00T w00t! friendcount++

So is a poke a sexual innuendo? If I send a girl a poke, is that like sending her an eHump?

Edit: and if a guy sends me a poke, should I be afraid?

Is facebook like myspace? If so, isn't the whole point of the site people adding each other as friends?

Facebook is way better than myspace IMO......it focuses on people from your college rather than the entire country...and is a lot more secure in terms of signup. I like it a lot more, and have already met a bunch of people through it.

how it works is you can see anyone who has their profile enabled from your school...all you have to do is search for them....if someone goes to another school, you first have to add them as your friend, and if they approve, you can then view their profile. I really like how this is setup....helps prevent stalkers from staking out their "victims" :p
