Facebook -- for rich people (for just $9,000)

Would you enjoy social media more without all those pesky 99-percenters complaining about their mortgage payments and high cable bills?

For a mere $9,000, Netropolitan is here to help.

Launched Tuesday, Netropolitan bills itself as “the online country club for people with more money than time.”

To join, users must pony up $9,000 for dues and a membership fee, then another $3,000 per year after that.

McOwned is too dumb to know that Facebook started out as a site for Harvard and Ivy League students. (IE: rich people). Its creators have gotten stinking rich by opening it up to get the average doofus (IE: exactly his ilk) to adopt it as some sort of vicarious "life".

Such a weird and warped life one must lead blinded by jealousy of others to the point you actually PLAY into them even richer. Would be sad if the OP wasn't such a complete douchebag.

There is a saying in the art world, "build for the classess, live with the masses. Build for the masses, live with the classes."

Facebook started out as a rip off of a site for Harvard and Ivy League students. Two of the richest people in the world, Zuckerberg and Gates, got tens of billions for ripping of someone else's idea.

True, but it was still itself initially: a site for Harvard and Ivy League students.

Two of the richest people in the world, Zuckerberg and Gates, got tens of billions for ripping of someone else's idea.
Gates certainly should have made whole the people he bought ideas like DOS from for peanuts. If he hasn't when he can afford to a gazillion times over, then that'd be pretty sad.

As for the Winklevoss brothers that Zuckerberg ripped off, they made out like bandits. Their own crappy site would never have been what FB became, and would never have made anything close to the kind of money they settled with Zuckerberg for.

Luckiest damn thing that ever happened to them being "ripped off" by Zuckerberg.

That is certainly true. If memory serves they wanted to keep it strictly for school use.
