Facebook for PS3 pretty much confirmed

This has been popping up since yesterday as a rumor but it looks like someone finally got a Sony spokesperson to say something. Gamespy

The images of the service that appeared on the PlayStation website - caught by Scrawl before removal - were posted by mistake, we're told.

The official Sony UK PR line is that there will be more information on this "very shortly".

Obviously, we'll have to wait to see if Sony has any other new apps it is looking to add since the 360 will have Twitter and Last.fm in it's favor for now FWIW.

not an important feature to me, but for media center use I could see it sorta coming in handy if you use facebook a lot. As long as I don't have to pay for it I'll gladly take more features.

Yeah, I don't care for it as far as the sharing posts with friends but the photo sharing bit is actually quite well done on the 360. It actually loads faster than the web version and is organized better (IMO) than the 360 dash version.

This just seems like a terrible idea to me. How am I supposed to trick all the facebook ladies into thinking I'm cool when my page is getting blown up by my 360 and PS3 for 20 hours every day?!
