Facebook crashing Firefox

Facebook uses a lot of Flash and sometimes my browser will freeze and then resume. It may in fact be Sandboxie. I have yet to test that theory. I just know that Pandora doesn't work well in Sandboxie and Pandora uses Flash.

Wish HTML5 would take over. Less resources.

I won't say it crashes in Firefox 39.0.3 with the latest Flash installed. But it does run like a snail on that web site. Way too much to load with an older computer and a 3MBS download speed internet connection.

I think Facebook updated some of their javascript recently, probably rolled out new features while still in beta. Under my "friends" column there is a line that shows how many posts they've made since my last visit now.

My mother keeps complaining about a pop-up that says something about scripts not responding or something like that. She's not using no-script but I do have FF running with sandboxie.

This happens to me a lot in Facebook using Sandboxie. Not sure if it's Sandboxie or not. Since I rarely surf without Sandboxie I'd have to try it one day without Sandboxie.

Sandboxie may have issues with JS and Flash, since I can't use Sandboxie with Pandora withot rendering becoming slow.

Thanks for the confirmation. The script message is fairly new so something has changed recently on FB. It shouldn't be an update because she's always a little behind on all her updates. I never know how full the sandbox is since it deletes on close.

On my machine I normally don't have problems but I don't use FB and I use noscript. Neither machine has click to play turned on. I just think FB is crap and they are constantly trying new stuff, doing maintenance sprinkled with a gratuitous amount of flash and the pages that constantly update.

I use NoScript as well, but there are scripts in Facebook that you have to allow otherwise the damn site won't work... never mind trying to play a game. I have to pull out plain vanilla Chrome if I want to.

Yeah, it does on occasion say something like, "A script has stopped working." Stop or Continue.

I've been getting Firefox becoming unresponsive and freezing upon refreshing my Facebook page.

Running FF 41.0.2 with Flash 19
