These companies got no idea of the value of money.

I wonder what facebook wants with it. I dont hope its some attempt to counter googles failglasses.

Wow, that's a pile of cash for a company that doesn't have a final shipping product yet.

Oh, and now John Carmack works for Facebook. This is a strange world we live in.

Do Kickstarter backers get a share of the proceeds or just a pair of lousy FB Goggles?

This kind of thing really irks me about kickstarter. 2 Billion dollars? Man the people at this company could kick back 100 grand to each kickstarter and have a BILLION left. It had less than 10,000 backers. Some of the main guys at Oculus are now overnight millionaires.

Oh how the mighty fall over time. Shame to see Facebook taking Oculus Rift with them (it will happen, just wait). I just do not see in any fathomable way how a VR helmet company is worth 2 billion dollars. It's not like they have proprietary patents on this. I also feel incredibly bad for all the kickstarter supporters. Talk about getting the bare minimum of what you supported.

The kickstarted backers got (or will get) exactly what they paid for.

Didn't Valve ship a ton of research to OR recently? :whiste:

Oh well, I'm sure someone else can pick up the slack. The tech behind OR is not exacly rocket science by now.
