facebook and youtube down...

I have an extremely strange networking problem. I just reformatted back to Vista two days ago, using FF.

The youtube site works, but videos only start to load after 3 minutes. Thought it was a flash problem, but videos load on any other video site just fine (ex: break.com).

Facebook loads intermittently, and frequently 404's. I do not have this problem with ANY other website.

Now I understand problems about total 404's or flash not working on all sites, but this random targeting of FB and youtube is getting annoying. I've disabled firewalls, opened ports, rebooted routers and and found no solution.

Suggestions?

Is this on your home Internet connection or is it on a school or office network? If it is a school or office network then I would guess that the network admins are throttling bandwidth to those sites so that they don't interfere with other network activities. It's possible, but highly unlikely, that a residential Internet provider could be doing the same thing.

This is on the home connection.

It's very weird because I can do a tracert to facebook.com and get there in 15 hops, yet the site always 404's...
I would chalk this up to a format glitch, except two computers are exhibiting this problem.

I also removed the router, direct connection to the DSL modem, and it is still no go.
