Facebook accounts for 1 in 4 page views in the US

You gotta figure that facebook users access their pages multiple times a day, sometimes 10 or more times in a 24 hours period.

You know nothing of Facebook users.
Most of them check it CONSTANTLY. Like every 30 seconds to 2 minutes. And many cell phone apps check it constantly every minute of the day forever.

lol sheesh rub my nose in shit, will ya? Relax... 😛

I use Facebook and I don't check it THAT often.

Page views.

People get on that site and click away forever, each time it's another page view. They have around 10% of visits which is still a very large percentage.

ask.com is one of the most accessed web sites in America, because they install a toolbar without asking with a shitton of programs. This 1 in 4 thing is kind of disturbing because I know there are a lot of people who wouldn't touch FB if you paid them. That means the ones who use it are refreshing every 10 seconds all day long to see what updates their BFF posted about their goings on.

LOL. Facebook is the AOL of the 2010s. If they're still around in any sort of significant capacity in ten years (or even five), I'll be shocked.

facebook has already been around 5 solid years.

They are rumored to have made 2 billion in profit this year.

I agree with you and think they will shut down operations tomorrow. You bring up some very good points.

i only use facebook from my phone while in the can. i suppose my phone probably updates it all the time. but there's no ads on it.

5 solid years? LOL AOL was around way longer than that, and at one point were ruling the internet. Now their service is free and nobody gives a shit about them. 5 Years ago Yahoo was making billions a year now they're almost on life support. Netscape was also king for 5 solid years +. Sorry, but FB won't be the exception to the rule, no internet site/company stays on the top. FB will crash and burn, 5 years sounds about right.

What happened to good old email and instant messaging? Fucking everyone is using text messages and facebook. Why?
