OK my Lian Li PC-B25B case is now up and running with a new system. And ---the blue ring light on the front bezel is shining brightly (not annoyingly bright). That's a good thing.
The bad booboo is this; last week I cried to all for help because I didn't know how to connect subject blue ring light and as far as I could tell the necessary adapter seen in reviews was missing. NewEgg had no answers and you good folks here at Anand tried to help but had no answer either. It was recommended that I contact Performance PC as they just might be familiar with the case. They came up blank also but promised to get in touch with their Lian Li sales person and get an answer.
In the meantime I cajoled the EGG into doing a refund RMA though I had the case in my possession beyond their 30 day limit on refunds. I then placed an order with Performance PC with their assurance they would find an answer and also physically check to insure that pesky adapter was in the box. Phone call from Performance PC letting me know the box was on its way and there was no adapter in the box. Phone call from Performance PC with the answer. Lian Li had chosen to quietly drop the need for the adapter and allow the blue ring light to work off a standard 12 volt molex. What's with the two pin fan like connector on the wiring for the light? There's a two pin male to molex adapter in the box!!!!
Folks ----I should have figured that out:disgust: When I first opened the case, fan connector to molex adapters were on each fan connection and on the connector for the blue ring light. As is my habit I just pull those off and throw them in a drawer with a hundred others because I haven't used a fan to molex adapter in ages. I paid no attention and pulled the adapter from the blue light wiring and didn't notice that it was a two pin connector to molex adapter. By the time I got around to connecting the last of the wiring to finalize my new build I had completely spaced out the handy dandy two pin plug to molex adapter. And---we all got into a big brouhaha about how to turn on the blue ring light.
My apologies to all for being such a nitwit. Of course, if I had been capable of getting ahold of Lian Li, or if they had simply slipped a note in with the case documentation all of this wouldn't have happened - but in the end - - - if I had been paying attention when I removed the adapter from the light's wires all of this wouldn't have happened.
Again my apologies to all and I will get a hold of the EGG and at least offer to pay a restocking fee as the case has absolutely nothing wrong with it (accept those pesky adapters which I neglected to replace when I shipped the case back to the EGG):brokenheart:
