F430 and F355

Which one would you consider a better car (from only these two)?

I think the F355. I saw one the other day, and it had the most harmonious exhaust, and is available in THREE different body styles! Not only that, but it was the first Ferrari with the Sequential Semi-Auto gearbox 😀rool;

/me wonders how much an F355 goes for now adays.

ferrari 355 for sure, the new cars are gettin fat, and im not a fan of the rounded shapes, i liked the 355's square chizzled features. a guy has one where i live, in red of course....its got the most killer exhaust note ever...puts the 360's to shame (2 here, 1 spider 1 coupe)

havent seen a 430 in the flesh yet, but im banking on one of the footballers round here to have one soon

manager of Middlesbrough FC has a Aston Martin Vanquish!, didnt go for the crappy paddle shift manual box thats simply horrid (why they never hooked the paddle shift to a auto box i have no idea)

Vanquish with Manual 6 speed.....sublime.

id feel more special in a 355 knowing all the chav footballers are driving round in the latest ferrari

in my opinion a cool car that loads of people have isnt cool any more.

example ive seen 3-4 360's and theyre nothing special anymore, the 355 that live round here rarely comes out and its the only one ive seen ever...it makes me turn my head, the 360 doesnt do that for me

its all down to personal taste, for me the 355 is the car id rather be sat in

lol @ loads of people having it. i think there's only 1 f430 in the entire country right now(and ive seen it in newport beach).

i didnt mean loads of ferraris i just meant a cool car like for instance the new mini....i wouldnt buy a new mini now, i walk past 9 mini coopers on the way to lectures everyday..its a 10min walk through a campus, the mini isnt cool coz theres too many of them, and to many of them are driven by people who simply see the car as a fashion item

and im sorry that was in reference to the 360, not the 430 sorry. theres 4 where i live, and theres always a good handful on the Gumball rally

So something isn't cool because a bunch of other people own it...that is such a pathetic attitude. The F430 is clearly a better car. Looks are subjective.

How can you say that !! Clakeson ripped even the Vanquish S saying its gear box was too jerky and didnt change down quick enough, he compared it to a F575 (sayong the 575 had a much better gear box)

The better car is without a doubt the f430. Which one would I rather have? The 355. I fell in love with that car when I saw it in "The Rock" I love its exhaust sound and the GTS roof.

I see plenty of 430's where I am. Thats cause i live a 10 minute walk from:

The worlds Largest Ferrari and Massarati sales office

and

Talacrest - Europes leading Ferrari specialist

Talacrest is at the end of my street and has 360's spiders, 355's and the like out each day.

Maranello have a couple of Gallardo's, a Bently GT and a clutch of 996 turbo's right now, too.

F430, hopefully a race prepped version like the Challenge Stradalle will come out; I'd definately think about getting the car with carbon brakes; though if i were to get this car, it'd be primarily a race car to drive in HPDE and everyonce in a while on the streets to the grocery store.

I've only seen one magazine article on the 430. Just doesn't seem to get much press, or maybe I'm not looking in the right places. If C&D's numbers are anywhere near correct (they got something absurd like 3.5 seconds to 60), then it has to be the better performer. But nothing can top the 355's engine sound. Absolutely stunning.

yes thats why i said Manual.....he had the crappy manual hooked to a paddle shift....it was manual gearbox that had hydraulics or something to shift up n down when u used the paddle..im on about an actual gear stick shifter

my uncle is a wholesale dealer dealing with higher end cars, 'come outside' he says one day. i hear this f355 (f1 tranny) from across the block.

the sound from that thing, i fell in love. so loud and sexy and argh. i hear they have reliability issues (moreso than usual), but i dunno if they fixed that in its later years.

The 355 is just gorgeous. The 430 is weird googly eyed.

do they excite me more than a F40? no

PRICKLYPETE: everyones entitled to an atitude...im not saying i wouldnt have the car. ie if i won a mini cooper 2moro id be over the moon, but i dont think id willing hand over the hard earned to simply be another one of the crowd.

of course a ferrari always stands out, no matter how many there are

but with cars like the Mini, i wouldnt willingly buy one becuase i know for a fact ill see 20 hairdressers driving theirs on the way home....that makes the mini just another car no matter how good it is.

i really like the RX-8 and thank god theres not many about its still kinda unique to see one, its cool, the 350Z is even more scarce round these parts and as such its even more joyful to see it

but the car id really want is an RX-7, the modern day E-Type. beautiful car, and in this country flippin Rare as rocking horse Sh!t. ive seen one in my entire life, and it made me gawp for the full 30 seconds it was in my view.....never seen it again.

guess i jus like the older cars

i prefer the R33 skyline to the R34
the RX7 instead of thr RX8
EVO2 instead of the EVO8
Ferrari F40 instead of the F50 & Enzo
the F355 instead of the F360

i always liked the Jag XJ220

hehe guess i like cars concieved in the 80's, before safety became paramount

they have a black 355 at a track near me....i think i might jus save up to go for another one of those experience days, i wanna red line that 355!

ive driven the Cooper S round that track and it was a very nice car to drive..and damn quick, but i prefered the old skool 944 turbo, when the turbo hits its just insane, and apparently (my friend works there as a driver) i was driving the worst 944 out of the ones they had, the turbo was on its last legs

nah doesnt do it for me my friend....nose is too high, whole car looks a little too high (probably just the way the photos been taken) i dunno the whole thing jus looks out of proportion, it just doesnt look right
