Ok, but can they now do some testing on a commercial-size airplane? I do not think a terrorist getting into the USA will have the means to hijack a military plane and crash it appropriate into a nuclear facility. They proved, on the other hand, that commercial planes are much easier to acquire under force.

Besides, the kenetic enegy being absorbed by a 757 or 747 would be much more substantial at 500 MPH. Ok, I just want them to toast a commercial jetliner for my amusement, but considering the things our tax dollars typically get wasted on is without amusement ...

And why couldn't the remote pilot the place onto the target instead of placing it on a rail?

I believe these kinds of impact tests are very rigorous with cameras and sensors all over the place so they can analyze the data.

It is on a rail so they have the utmost control over the experiment. Too many things can go wrong trying to remote something at 500 MPH into a concrete wall.

The bunker buster bomb(GBU 28) used in the Gulf war can penetrate 3 or 4 reinforced concrete walls, similar (at least in size) to the one in the video. It's pretty cool seeing it slice through and come out looking brand new.
Additionally,
The GBU is made from artillery barrels.
It was designed, built, tested in under a month.
Today, there is no such thing as an impervious bunker. Even NORAD is vulnerable to a direct hit from a moderate sized nuclear device.
