F-Zero GX review

Rassin-frassin. The release date was listed as the 25th on websites everywhere, but none of the stores had it yesterday. Guess I'll try again tonight.
 
I just bought this game and have played it for about 2 hours

This game ROCKS! So much better than the wipeout series 😀

I am loving it. If you own a GC, do yourself a favor and buy it!!

I've read that it is insanely difficult. I've never been a big fan of racing games though, or at least futuristic ones. I'd prefer something along the lines of GT3. I might try out Auto Modellista when it comes out.

GT3 is the hardest game i have ever played. no way fzero is harder
 
Just bought Soul Calibur II online (KBToys deal), and hitting EBGames in about 3 hours for F-Zero after I get out of work. That was a very quick $100 spent.
 
Yes I am deffinitely buying it. It looks as if I bought the GC at just the right time. I bought about 5 amazing games and now a whole bunch more are coming out.

Oddly my friend passed GT3 with ease. He's looking forward to F-Zero GX's claimed difficulty.
 
GT3 and F-Zero don't deserve to be classified together IMO. Both are truely great games in their own respect, and are very different types of racing games altogether.

I want this and Soul Calibur II (XBOX version) at the same time. Should I go broke for a week so I can play own these two games now?
 
Now I just have to wait the 6-9 months it's going to take Nintendo to release it here 🙁

Still, something to look forward to, the cube needs more good games. My games library is crying out for more 😀
 
i love the cube, its def quality over quantity, but i've spent more time with it than my xbox or ps2. metroid, res evil 1 remake, mario, smash bros, zelda, f zero, and eternal darkness are all awesome games.

F-Zero GX is indeed awesome, but the controls take some getting used to, unless you're going balls out you'll find them very twitchy, so just go balls out all the time.

No, get F-Zero GX because it's going to be more new experiences with each race. Fighting games get boring fast.

The twitchiness appears to be related to the "Grip" machine parameter. Lower grip ratings mean that the side-to-side control is much touchier than an A-rating machine. Also, pushing forward on the stick seems to increase the handling difficulty a lot.

Played the Ruby Grand Prix on Novice level for a few hours last night, and wasn't able to get a first place finish (on any of the tracks!) until my fifth or sixth try. I got roundly spanked the first time through, with not a single finish in the top ten. Not a racing game where you don't want to read the manual.

Simple controls plus deep mechanics plus lots of unlockable stuff equals plenty of fun.
 
The first couple hours to playing I couldn't do a clean lap if you paid me. Then BAM, 1st, 1st, 4th, 1st, 1st. I was in the zone big time with 5 clean races yeilding 4 solid wins taking the championship with a 100 point lead. If this is anything like NFS:HP2, I'll have dominated it in a couple weeks 🙂 (NFS:HP2 took me a total of 6 days to beat all 63 events at medium difficulty)
 
Man they really werent joking when they said it was hard!

I can kick ass in the first two cups, havent tried the third yet. But the story mode just kicks my ass all over the place. I cant even beat the second level, with the falling rocks.

Ah well, its about time for a challenge, after the miserable excuse for a challege zelda was.
