I never get why swearing is a no go on American TV (at least I've heard it is)
Swearing is a no-go on TV with the exception of premium cable (HBO, Showtime, etc) because the FCC thinks that watching people shoot each other is less offensive than the word fuck or wise and beautiful woman.

I'll never forget watching showgirls fully uncensored with my flatmates in London on one of the bbc channels.
I saw this on AMC same with Diehard the one with the building.
I was hearing the F word and I was like what?! And it was the unrated version very shocking ha. I never saw that version before.
