I swear, having fios has been such a fucking headache.
I originally signed up for FIOS TV + internet + digital phone. I canceled the TV service before they even came out for the initial install and I was STILL charged for it on my first bill. It took 2 months to receive a credit for it! But that's not what I'm really angry about.
Later I dropped the phone service. I don't know why I signed up for that since I have a cell phone.. I never used the home phone. A few weeks ago, which is roughly 3 months after I canceled the phone line, I got a letter from a collection agency saying my account was 90 days past due!! Apparently Verizon never canceled the old account, instead they just made me a new one but stopped sending me a bill for the old one. I wrote a letter to the collection agency and Verizon, as well as spoke with Verizon over the phone about it.
I thought everything was taken care of, as Verizon assured me it was, until I got ANOTHER letter from the collection agency today! I thought they were just writing me back to say that everything had been cleared up, but now they are saying my account is past due again! :| :| :| :| :| :| :| :| :|
It's 1/3 of the amount reported last time, which I can only guess that Verizon cleared the balance on it, but did not officially close it! So now I have been reported again for being late on an account that I don't even have!
I'm on autopay for my "real" account and have never missed a payment. This is such bullshit. Their office hours are 7AM to 7PM and someone is going to get an ear full tomorrow morning. I was polite the first few times I spoke with them since that usually gets you further, but apparently Verizon is too fucking stupid to fix this issue.
