I understand security, but their site is fully inaccessible half the time because the verification method of "Press and Hold" never lets you through even though you follow the instructions to a tee.

Sometimes, the alternative "check the box" works but it wasn't working earlier this afternoon.

Their website completely sucks ... my solution is I never use it.
I haven't bought much of anything this year; I was price checking something I was going to send to "the Marketplace" or craigs list. But I'd rather buy from Wally World rather than Amazon. I usually buy motor oil from them when Exxon runs their rebates.

If I'm buying from Walmart the only way I'll do it is by walking into a B&M store where I can inspect what I'm getting prior to paying for it. I don't trust their website at all.

It's one thing to say just don't use it, but I really sympathize with the parents trying to get a PS5 or some other gift for their kid for Christmas when Walmart might be the only website for the day getting a stock drop- in which case you just gotta deal with the BS and hope you get lucky.

Instead of $1 bills do we just swipe our credit cards between the buttocks of these salacious robots?
Buy one and it will pleasure you for the lifetime of the robot, with no conditions beyond not operating it in a foolish and dangerous manner.(Sex robots are COMING).

Is that a mobile thing? I don't think I've ever ordered anything from their mobile site, but I don't know what this "Press and Hold" thing you're talking about is.

A few weeks back I did have issues trying to order a hammock, but overwhelmingly it works fine for me.

It pops up on Chrome incognito mode. Doesn't seem to pop up in Brave. Haven't tried firefox.

Is OP using a VPN?
Not that I am aware of. This has repeatedly come up with brand new Chrome incognito sessions over at least the past couple months, but apparently even the non-incognito session in the same browser works fine. I can’t replicate this in any other browser on the computer(did try Firefox and Brave incognito). I don’t recall tinkering with the default internet settings.

Brave incognito works with both the shields up and the shields down.

That damn thing prevented me from scoring the XBox Series X from Walmart a bunch of times. I kept pressing and holding it down and then it would just keep asking me to do it again and again no matter how many times I did it. This was for tons of folks. So glitchy.

What service does it use for the verification, is it Walmart's own or is it powered by another source like google I am not a robot verifier? If it is the later, then it is a problem at Google's end. It could also be cookies or some content blocker that is causing the issue, you could try deleting all the cookies and turning the content blocker off.

There's a screenshot in the thread, I haven't seen that particular style before.

If i read the URL in the image correctly, it mentions the word blocked, I have a bad feeling about this for those who are going thru this issue.

I took time to look thru some of Walmart's website Terms and Services and other stuff and found the following,
"Walmart uses two main types of cookies - session cookies and persistent cookies:
  • Session cookies exist for only as long as your browser remains open. For example, it allows us to remember the items added to your shopping cart as you browse different pages on Walmart’s websites. Please note that if you block cookies from walmart.com, you may not be able to make purchases on the website."
Also, look here on the reply on the thread made by _AW_ here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...te-start/6bdcf83d-1b8e-439c-9d76-3ec15b568e4f
"Don't bother reconfiguring your browser or jumping through any of the suggested hoops. The captchas are not due to an issue with your computer, they are IP address range specific and designed to prevent bot traffic. Unfortunately, your IP address falls within one of these address ranges. You could look at using a VPN to get around the restriction.

BTW I'm in Australia, and my IP address gets the captcha too"

Further more here is a quote from another source: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/a...is-happening-at-walmart-tonight/1100-6495086/
"Walmart seems to have implemented a new method of warding off bots with its console restocks. With this morning's restock, a message popped up asking you to press and hold down a specific button before the console could be added to your cart. I had to do this about 10 times before I got through to checkout, so if you encounter this message, keep trying. Despite some delays with my payment going through, I was able to successfully place an order several minutes after the restock went live, so it definitely seems as though Walmart has more stock available today. Still, patience (and a good deal of luck) is required. "

It only happens during Chrome incognito sessions on my desktop computer. Doesn't occur in other browsers like Brave or Firefox(both regular and privacy session) so far or even Chrome in regular browsing windows.

Just now, I typed in walmart.com into Chrome incognito and I felt hope because the script didn't show up. Then I try to login. The press and hold button shows up again. There is no escaping it either. Possibly walmart.com might be able to specifically detect my browser's incognito Chrome session.
