F*rk OpenSSL!

I guess OpenSSL will have to change the logo on their website pretty soon

"Why buy an SSL toolkit as a black-box when you can get an open one for free?"

Well, I certainly wouldn't mind if the OpenBSD projects forked OpenSSL and created BSD_SSL or something.

Maybe that would result in me not having to download updates every other week.

Im not sure if its going to be an "OpenBSD only" thing, or if it will be mandatory for OpenSSH so they will make a portable version of it.... Either way, its supposed to keep the old license, so the fork could be forked 😛

(really gone now 😛)

I was thinking along the lines of OpenSSH, developed and maintained by a subgroup of the OpenBSD project, with the same security and quality goals as OpenBSD/SSH.

OpenSSL is one piece of software that hasn't exactly impressed me in terms of security track record.
