Here's the deal...
I ordered a rather nice computer desk from K-mart about a month ago for about $226.00 after tax and shipping. I waited patiently for days for it to come, but supposedly it was damaged during shipping (at the San Bernardino stop) and never got to me.
Instead of notifying me, UPS sends it back to the shipper; fine, whatever. Naturally, I assume that another unit will be sent out in its place. I wait for days for an update without hearing by email of phone about it. I call a K-mart rep. and he tells me that I'll have to order another desk (and pay them another $226.00) before a replacement unit will be sent out, and that they'll refund my original $226.00 after they receive back the first desk.
By now I'm desparate to get my desk so I say fine, whatever. I check my email today and again I learn that the 2nd desk was sent out, damaged (at the same San Bernardino stop) and immediately sent back to the shipper....supposedly. So now I'm really upset. In both instances I've never even gotten a chance to SEE this alleged damage for myself, and now I've paid K-mart TWICE for two desks and have yet to even see either one. :|
They still have not refunded me my original $226.00 even though they signed for and received the first desk last week.
Is there any course of action I can take to find out why my orders seem to be getting "damaged" at the same location each time and sent back without even getting a chance to see the packages for myself? I know that when I call them tomorrow they'll tell me to order another desk again. No way in hell am I forking over another $226.00 to these people.
Any ideas??
CLIFF NOTES:
1. Ordered a desk from K-mart
2. "Got damaged" in shipping by UPS, so I ordered another one.
3. The 2nd one "got damaged" in shipping by UPS at the same location.
4. I've now paid for two desks at $226.00 each and have yet to see either one.
5. Still haven't been refunded for the first desk.
