Inaccessible boot device.<BR>Run chkdsk /f , ok i do and nothing. also when i start with my win98 boot floppy i can't see my files on c: This is a 3 month old maxtor.

How far do you get in the Win2k boot sequence? Do you get at all past the boot menu? If not and you win2k is on a drive/partition other than C: you might want to verify that it's OK.

Cheers.

did you install win2k on the same computer or did you install w2k on some other computer and then put the harddisk in this one?

That's the type of error you get when you have a different mass storage controller (IDE or SCSI) than what Win2k was running on the last time it was shutdown. The easiest thing to do is pop in the win2k cd and do a repair. Once the repair finishes, you should be able to get back to win2k. Remember to reapply ALL service packs and updates, then you should be ready to go.
