lol...I tend to not let people upload, cause I'm on 56K and it's horribbly slow without others sucking up my bandwidth If I had some to spare, I'd let people though.

Deeko, I'd understand if the guy did have a 56K (he was on cable). I wouldn't download from a 56K'er anyway (I will just to make sure he's not lying about his connection).

If I had cable I'd share on MX and napster, but I'm on ADSL, and uploads actually slow my download speed horrendously. Unless I leave them on when I'm asleep (and I don't, since I don't like leaving ports open for extended periods of time), I ain't sharing jack.

When I'm on Napster or CuteMX or Swapoo or something & I notice an upload I check to see if the person downloading files from me is sharing. If they are not sharing files I cancel the upload when its 90% completed.

That way the bloke gets punished for not sharing files by having downloaded an incomplete file. However if he's just a newbie that just doesnt have any files to share, then he now has a file to share even if its incomplete.
