Will an HT enabled P4 act as two CPU's while crunching? Can I sent up two instances of the CLI or will it be faster to just use one?

Read this: http://forum.folding-community.org/viewtopic.php?t=3165&highlight=hyper+threading Basically you need to run 2 clients in order to make effective use of your CPU!

and if you go here http://forum.folding-community.org/search.php and type in "hyper threading" you should get some useful hits.

It looks it will be about a week before you overtake me, less if this is a new machine you are adding! Good luck 🙂

Well, it looks like alnitak answered you question. Which is a good thing, since I don't know anything about HT in P4s. 😱

uh... shouldn't HT help most when 2 completely different tasks are being done? So... choose a project completely different to F@H (the CPU parts being used)... I think that should give both projects as much as possible out of the CPU.

That has been my understanding as well.

I guess I should have used the "search" button.
